Punta del Este - Uruguay

Shawn is a young emerging artist from Punta del Este, Uruguay. Raised in a family of Latin American and North American descent, he recently put aside his signature recycled constructions to explore abstract paintings in a style he refers to as colloquial-naif with personalized symbology and motifs. The works center on common global themes, including mass transit, environmental crises and social issues of interest to the artist. The bright and bold works are pared down to simplistic forms, brash responses and catchy slogans with nods to Basquiat, post-pop street art, neo-expressionism, graffiti, and contemporary de-skilling.
