Description

Jay Makins explores controlled randomness is this series of intricate and heavily-textured mixed-media paintings on canvas. Makins uses hand-made forms instead of brushes to apply paint in patterned layers, painstakingly building exquisite over-all compositions. A digital imaging specialist before returning to more traditional methods, Jay often explores digital results through analog tools, most recently with explorations into dot matrices, big data as well as the relationships between markers and dots.
